Does it seem the world is spinning out of control? Are things getting worse? If so, how does one survive the growing chaos without God? Let me jump straight to the answer instead of hiding it in the latter paragraphs of this article. Again, how does one survive chaos without God? The answer is, “You don’t!”
Permit me to explain by referencing Genesis 1. In the beginning, there was nothing but God. God spoke and things materialized. He created the heaven and the earth. But the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God declared, “Let there be…” Chaos became order as day, night, seasons, vegetation, and species came forth. For example, land separated the waters and eventually people walked the earth. On the seventh day of creation God rested, having setup a “very good” ecosystem of universal constructs.
In Genesis 3, “order” began slipping away. The downward spiral included the eviction of the first couple from their utopia Garden. Ever since mankind has repeatedly attempted to slow or cure the decline, but to no avail. The downward trend is undeniable. Greed, pride, and lust permeate everything. Cruelty and corruption are on the rise. These are but a few of the ripple effects of the growing chaos.
Every remedy offered by mankind comes with its own side effects. None is 100% foolproof. Will Artificial Intelligence (AI) save the day? Here is the answer, “No, it ain’t that smart!” Anything made by man or machine or code will have the flaws of the entity that created it. There is only one hope. The ONLY Entity that is pure, divine, omniscient (all knowing), omnipotent (all powerful), and omniscient (everywhere all at once) can restore order and sustain this order for all of eternity. Of course, this entity is the true God, maker of heaven and earth.
While you prepare yourself for the coming chaos, you may build up a reserve of food and other resources. You may begin saving money for leaner times. You may resort to a minimalist lifestyle to rein in your appetite for the finer things in life. You may build fortresses to shield yourself from the rest of the world. Nice, but insufficient. Such efforts may delay the negative impacts for you and your family, but rest assured, chaos is coming for you too.
Our only hope is God. Only He can stop the pain, calm the fears, and catch us in our freefall. Here is the hope worth fighting for and realizing. Deepen your faith in God, because I must experience chaos, I rather experience it with God than without God. Why? He has already demonstrated what He can do to chaos. He knows how to make “very good” outcomes.
